A dog who had his front legs stop by his previous owner has
been given a replacement chance to inspire hope after being rescued from his
abusive home.
The mixed-breed pup was digging a hole within the garden of
the house he lived in together with his junkie owner in Ukraine, when the
unnamed owner, who was high at the time, proceeded to attack the dog and stop
his two front legs.
True managed to tug himself almost the closest neighboring
home, where a shocked neighbor found him, and quick had him taken to a shelter
where he began his recovery - but the Ukrainian shelter were concerned that
True wouldn't survive the winter thanks to his handicapped state.

When True, who was then two-years-old, had healed
physically, the shelter reached bent one among their rescue partners in Canada,
Cause 4 Paws, to spread True's story on social media and begin fundraisers for
his flight and initial medical bills.
Reading about True's experience on Facebook instantly made
Erin Blaak, 31, and Romain Avril, 33, want to adopt him, so she reached bent
the rescue center and offered True a home. On December 4, 2018, Tru was taken
to Toronto and welcomed by her new family at the airport.
Erin, an realtor , and Paris-born Romain, a chef, already
own a Pomeranian called Bandito and a Labrador-Dane mix breed, Brady.
True has settled into the family well, but his injuries mean
that he must be carried around tons of the time and he gets tired easily,
although Erin and Romain need to confirm he gets enough exercise to stop weight
gain.

While within the house, True has learned to steer on just
his hind legs and is even ready to hop on the sofa and therefore the bed.
However, when he goes outside, he uses a wheelchair in situ of his front legs.
Erin is currently helping True become a therapy dog and she
or he hopes that he can bring joy and inspiration to amputees who face
life-changing challenges.
'I wasn't even trying to find a dog as we have already got
two, but I follow rescues on Facebook and his picture popped up together with
his story,' said Erin.
Custom: A Canadian company inside the kennel created this
custom-made feeding station so True can eat and drink while supporting himself!
Famous: True's story has been featured in Canadian
television segments and newspapers.
'In truth, he was from Ukraine and his owners had a lot of drugs. True was digging a hole outdoors, and his owner cut off both of his paws. The owner later died of an overdose. one among the neighbours found True as he had dragged himself on the brink of their house,' she explained
'It absolutely broke my heart. I spoke to my boyfriend and
that i called in immediately and offered to foster him. The salvation that
brought it is called "Reason 4 Paws" and they have been doing it for
several years and have saved more than thousand dogs.
'We first met True in Toronto airport and it had been emotional but we were very happy to possess him and provides him the life he deserves.'

'True has slot in rather well to our family and he loves all
dogs and other people , so he gets on well with our other dogs. He just wants everyone to love him," Erin
said.
'He must be carried tons of places as he gets tired very easily and tiny movements are much harder for him. But we'd like to form sure he gets enough exercise because he's susceptible to gain weight thanks to his condition. He can jump up onto my bed and therefore the sofa, however getting down may be a challenge and he always hurts himself. i can not stop him though, he's determined.'

Whilst True has successfully learned the way to get around using just his hind legs, he has recently started employing a dog wheelchair for when he goes outside, enabling him to steer for extended without having breaks.

Using True has taught Erin and Romain how to abuse animals, which unfortunately happens too often. Erin has since planned and hosted fundraisers for Cause 4 Paws to assist with their rescue efforts also as fundraisers for True for his water therapy, medical bills, his custom wheelchair and prosthetics. Erin's fundraisers focus specifically on helping dogs that have suffered abuse within the past.

'In 2019, Tru started using his wheelchair, and he really likes it. It's challenging for him to find out , so he's still trying to find out the way to rotate ,' said Erin.
'We are training every day to hopefully be ready to choose longer periods of your time with the wheelchair. He also has temporary prosthetics which we are performing on also .
'He just uses the wheelchair when he's outside, but round the house he walks on his hind legs - slowly and with breaks. He can jump abreast of the sofa without a wheelchair, but he cannot lie within the chair.

'The first fundraiser I did was for True so we could buy his water therapy, his wheelchair, his prosthetics, and the other needs. We received support from across the country and that we raised a complete of over $24,000. We've helped more dogs since, both locally and internationally.

'It's sad what proportion animal abuse and cruelty there's within the world. there is a lack of laws preventing this and in countries where there are tons of street dogs, they reproduce rapidly, and are often starved, hit by cars, or purposely tortured.

'True and that i are browsing the method of applying to urge him qualified as a therapy dog. It's our hope to go to the amputee divisions and convey joy and healing to those need it. True likes to cuddle and make people happy, as do I. we will not consider a far better thanks to spend our time.'
